A big part of hairpiece care is not only how you wash it, but the products that you wash it with. It's possible to feel the difference when using low-quality products as opposed to high-quality shampoo and conditioner. The quality of the hair care products that you use is also important when prolonging the lifespan of your hair system, as poor-quality products can compromise the durability of your hairpiece.

Shampoo:

There are a few ingredients specifically that you should avoid in your hair care products when possible such as: sulfates, parabens, and sodium chloride (salt). These chemicals can be excessively drying, and avoiding them will extend your hair system's life span and maintains its lively shine. 

What should your hair system shampoo include? Moisturizers are essential since they will bring your hair system to life and make it smoother. If your hairpiece is colored, it is also important that you get a color-friendly shampoo to ensure that the hair dye lasts. Non-color-safe shampoo, on the other hand, can cause the color to fade faster.
