You wouldn’t know it, but hair and balding are apparently on the minds of plenty of songwriters. In between writing songs about love, life, and the state of the world, musicians have been crafting songs dedicated to the real estate on the top of your head. While there aren’t many about hair replacement solutions, there are plenty about balding, having long hair, and everything in between. Here are some of our favorites!
- Buddy Sharpe and the Shakers – Bald Headed Baby
- Dean Martin – Ain’t That a Kick in the Head
- Doris Day – I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair
- The Beach Boys – She’s Goin’ Bald
- Frank Sinatra – Hair of Gold, Eyes of Blue
- ZZ Top – Hairdresser
- Dr. John – Bald Head
- Bob Marley & The Wailers – Crazy Baldhead
- The Kinks – Bald Headed Woman
- The Cowsills – Hair
- Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young – Almost Cut My Hair
- They Might Be Giants – Bangs
- Pavement – Cut Your Hair
- Beck – Devil’s Haircut
- Rush – I Think I’m Going Bald
- Edd Byrnes & Connie Stevens – Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb)
- Nina Simone – Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair
- Johnny Cash and the Carter Family – Silver Haired Daddy of Mine
