Your hair is your crowning glory, and it should be treated as such. People have a habit of taking their hair for granted. I mean, it's always been there and it's not going anywhere, right? The problem is this is definitely the wrong way to think about your hair. Women especially tend to make this mistake. Here are five ways for woman to improve their hair and ultimately prevent hair loss.
- Don't wait too long in between haircuts. The ends of your hair become brittle and dry, causing hair to look unhealthy. To keep hair shiny and vibrant, schedule a haircut every six to eight weeks.
- Curly, oil-treated, conditioning, dandruff, fine, volume - companies make and offer a variety of shampoos for a reason. Make sure you're using the right shampoo for your hair. Read the description on the back of the shampoo bottle and match the shampoo to your hair's needs. In addition, if you wear a wig, make sure you're buying the best wig shampoo for your hairpiece.
- Have you ever gotten out of the shower and combed a mass of knots out of your hair? We've all been there and ripping the brush through your hair is no walk on the beach. So, why do you still do it? Stop! Combing wet hair can cause hair breakage.
- Ponytails may be an easy, quick hair fix, but in the long run you can face hair loosing consequences! Wearing a ponytail too often can damage your hairline. Try letting your hair down once and awhile.
- Wrap, don't rub your hair in a towel after a shower. Rubbing hair in a towel can leave it frizzy and less healthy.
