Hair loss can be an exhausting experience for women. Here’s the tale of one woman’s daily struggle with her thinning hair. (And then she reached out to us at Advent Hair, thank goodness!)
January, 2010
My hair loss seems to keep me tired all the time. I spend so much time thinking about it and trying to do something to fix it. I avoid mirrors, I turn the bathroom lights off before I go in, and I avoid strong overhead restaurant lighting. I use soft light whenever I can.
Each day I wake up around 5am. I shower and comb my hair quickly to get past the torture. When I’m in the shower, I can just see my hair falling out. It’s a disgusting ritual, really. I comb my hair, I scoop up what fell out, and I throw the hair into the toilet. I pull my hair up in a clip or ponytail to avoid feeling it fall out all day. That’s torture in and of itself. Have you ever tried wearing a plastic clip right on your scalp all day? It just downright hurts.
It’s like a game each day trying to maximize every strand of hair. I use volumizing shampoo, volumizing conditioner, volumizing spray, volumizing mousse, blah blah blah. It’s still flat. It just takes all day.
Fortunately, this anonymous soul contacted Advent Hair and got herself a beautiful hair system. Now she can go about her day worry free—and sit wherever she wants in restaurants.
