Looking for a hairdo to make you look even more irresistible this Valentine’s Day? You’ve come to the right place! Special nights like these are the perfect excuse to experiment with a new look and hair style that makes you feel stunning, sexy, and sensual, and makes you ooze with confidence.

From elegant braids, to effortless updos and desirable loose waves, we’ve got hair styles for wigs of every shape, length and style. And, best of all, they can all be done by you, in the comfort of your home, without wasting away hours at the salon! So, without further ado, let's get styling!

Love is in the… Braided Updo

Elegant yet relaxed with a boho feel, a sweeping braided updo is a stunning Valentine’s Day hair style for hair systems with a medium to long length. The braid looks striking on highlighted hair, showing off it’s different tones, and the updo style is particularly flattering for oval face shapes. You can’t go wrong with this versatile hairdo that works marvels in both a casual and formal setting.

What you’ll need:

  • Long to medium, lace front hair system

  • Elastic band

  • Bobby pins

  • Hairspray

And… Action!

  1. Make a side part. From the parting downward start braiding a French braid, ending on the opposite side on the crown of your head.

  2. Secure the braid in place using a bobby pin.

  3. Pinch and pull on pieces you would like to accentuate.

  4. Gather the loose hair and merge it with the braid ends, pulling it to one side.

  5. Wrap the hair in a side bun; here you can choose whether to tuck it into a neat donut, or pull it into a messy bun, with loose ends hanging out.

  6. Secure the bun with an elastic band, some more bobby pins, and set it in place with a strong hold finishing hairspray.

All You Need is… a Half-Crown Twist

If you don’t fancy anything too drastic, a delicate and subtle half-crown twist is the one for you. Perfect for long to medium length hair replacement systems with loose waves, this hairdo lets you show off your hair system’s style and texture, whilst adding a bit more shape and structure and keeping loose strands off your face. Ideal for square-shaped faces, the loose waves and center part gently frame the face, softening sharp edges and angles.

What you’ll need:

  • Long to medium, lace front hairpiece with loose waves.

  • Bobby pins

  • Hairspray

  • Styling cream

And… Action!

  1. Organize your parting; a center parting tends to work best for this hairdo.

  2. Take two 1 inch sections on the left side, and after applying styling cream to your fingertips, twist the two sections until you’re about 3 inches from the ends.

  3. Pull the twist across the back of your head and secure it in the center with a bobby pin.

  4. Repeat Step 2 and 3 on the right side.

  5. Secure the hairdo with a strong hold hairspray.

I Only Have Eyes For… A Voluminous Short ‘Do

This one goes out to all those sexy short haired divas out there… Whether you’re working a classy bob, a cute pixie look, or gentle waves, you can bring your hairpiece to life this Valentine’s Day with volume! How? Backcombing, of course! Simple yet effective, tousled and voluminous short hair is effortlessly sensuous and hot, and will leave your date hypnotized.

What you’ll need:

  • Hair brush

  • Hair spray

And… Action!

  1. Group your hair strands into sections, and lift one section up at a time so that the ends are above the roots.

  2. Using the appropriate brush for your hair system type, start to gently brush backwards, starting from 3-4 inches away from the scalp and brushing towards the roots. Avoid backcombing from the very ends, and only brush the underneath section of the strands. Otherwise you’ll end up with a messy, dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards look - far from the sexy, seductive one you were after!

  3. Secure your tousled and voluminous hairdo in place with a few spritzes of hairspray

Love you to the… Rolled Updo and Back

The perfect hairstyle to pair with that little black dress, a rolled updo exudes sophistication and elegance. Also known as the Gibson tuck, this hairdo is suited to hair systems with long, thick hair styles, and people with heart and square face shapes. The neat look radiates confidence and poise, drawing the hair up and away from your face, leaving your eyes to dazzle and seduce.

What you’ll need:

  • Long wig

  • Elastic band (choose one that matches your hair color so it blends in)

  • Bobby pins

  • Hairspray

And… Action!

  1. Organize your parting; side or center parts work well with this hair style.

  2. Pull your hair back into a low ponytail and secure it with an elastic band.

  3. Loosen the ponytail slightly and split hair in half just above your elastic, creating a small gap.

  4. Loop the end of the ponytail through the gap created in step 3, resulting in an inside out ponytail.

  5. Take the loose ponytail ends and wrap them around your finger, up towards the nape of your neck, creating a roll. Make sure to keep the hair low and over the hairline to hide the edge of the wig cap.

  6. Secure the rolled up bun with bobby pins and release your finger.

  7. Set the hairstyle with a medium to strong hold hairspray, smoothing down any strays.

Be My… Side Sweep

Perfect for Valentine’s Day… or every day, the side sweep is graceful and classic and pairs exceptionally well with a clean-cut open-neck top or dress. Ideal for hair systems with a long to medium length and loose waves or curls, it allows you to show off your hair’s natural texture and shape. What’s more, not only does it look gorgeous on every face shape, but it’s also super quick and easy to pull together - ideal if you’re not yet a confident hair stylist!

What you’ll need:

  • Long to medium wig with loose waves or curls

  • Comb

  • Bobby pins

  • Hairspray

And… Action!

  1. Make a side part using a comb.

  2. Sweep hair over the tip of your ear and let it fall over your natural hairline.

  3. Secure the hair to one side with pins at the nape of the neck, making sure to conceal the bottom edge of the wig cap. We suggest crisscrossing the pins for the strongest hold.

  4. Apply some hairspray to tame flyaways, especially around the hairline, and aim for a smooth, secure finish.

3 Bonus Styling Tips:

  • Keep up your wig care routine! Particularly after using lots of product and hairspray for styling, it’s important to wash it all out afterwards with a gentle shampoo. Then, replenish the moisture using a nourishing conditioner. And, make sure to carefully brush out the tangles too!

  • Only use styling products specifically made for your hairpiece to help ensure the longevity of your wig. Synthetic and human hair systems have different qualities and therefore different needs, so always check the product label to make sure it’s suitable for your hair type before purchasing.

  • Avoid heated styling tools. An absolute no-go for synthetic hair systems, they damage and can even melt the hair strands! The best way to style synthetic hair replacement systems is with lukewarm water to wet set curls or straighten hair. Whilst straighteners, curlers and hair dryers can be used with human hair hairpieces, we only recommend doing so very occasionally and with a medium heat, to prevent the hair from drying out too much. Take extra care if you wear a lace hair system or a thin skin hair system as these systems tend to be more fragile.
