As the summer rolls on, the days are getting longer and warmer. People all over the U.S. are taking advantage of the gorgeous weather by flocking to beaches and pools to find respite from the hot sun. If you wear some type of hair replacement, you may be hesitant to do a cannonball into the nearest body of water. It’s understandable – can pool chemicals and waves of ocean water be good for your hair replacement? We’re here to tell you that you have nothing to worry about! As long as you take a few precautionary steps, you’ll be able to dive right in.

First, if you’re worried about your wig coming off in the water, it’s easier to avoid than you think. Instead of using your usual adhesive, try using a waterproof adhesive. This special kind of adhesive will not only keep your hair replacement fastened to your scalp in the water, but it can be worn anytime as a regular adhesive.

Next, think about trying a secure hairstyle. If you aren’t planning on dunking your head under water, try pinning your hair up. First, pull your hair replacement back in a ponytail, then use hair pins or a hair clip to secure your hair in place.
