It is very common that people spend hundreds of dollars purchasing an amazing hair system that looks totally real. However, if the hair systems aren’t properly washed and combed, they won’t look natural. The idea is to make any hair unit look stellar, fresh and natural. Up next are the keys to having a totally natural-looking hair system.

The first step in obtaining a natural hair system style is washing and cleaning your own hair (in case you still have some left) in order to let the hair replacement, have something good to blend into. In case you are only washing your hair unit, then you can follow our simple tips on how to do so here.

Once you are out of the shower and dried up, then you will be able to combing in your style in the appropriate way to obtain a natural-looking hair system.

There are four items you need in order to proceed to making your hair unit look right and fresh:

  • A wide tooth brush – it’s vital for the brush to have wide teeth so that the hair can get loosened up and detangled.
  • A wide tooth comb – once again, it’s important for the comb to have wide teeth to avoid any hair tangling that could damage your hair unit.
  • Your Hair System, obviously! You can check out models on Advent Hair and even have your own costumed hair unit.
  • An empty spray bottle and fill it up with water! This is the bottle that you would typically spray your plants with. You’ll need it just to get a mist, so that once you are all done with hair style, you can straighten it out your hair unit and make look natural and in place. More on this later.

Once you have your materials set to go, the first thing you must remember is not to keep your hair system upside down on a table or any other surface because the hairs in the unit will damage and invert themselves and will become impossible to blend in. It’s recommended to set it on top of a wide mouthed glass (or anything that complies with the same function) and just lay it on top of it. Be sure to have a hair stand tall enough to avoid the hairs hitting on any surface. Any wig stand or something by the sort should make the trick.

Next, you have to make sure that your scalp is clean so that the adhesive will function. We recommend you use Euro Mud to exfoliate and refresh your scalp and provide a longer lasting bond. For tips on cleaning your scalp, check out the following blog. After having cleaned your scalp and before having attached your hair system, you’ll take wide tooth brush and start brushing  out your hair system so that no hair is stuck anywhere into the adhesive you are about to use. Then, with your adhesive, put on your hair system in the desired spot, one that looks natural, since it’s crucial to allow a perfect blend. Just remember: it has to be pleasing to the eye and placed on tightly.

After your unit is on your scalp, the first thing you do is comb through the hair system with the wide tooth comb to get it all loosened up. Then you take your brush and you go through it again, but this time, as you are brushing smoothly, you start adjusting your hair system in the way you want it to look at the end. Keep in mind that your goal is to avoid leaving flat straight lines, because those lines are what give it away.

Now that your unit is loose and adapted to your preferred form, it’s time for the final touches to obtain a natural-looking hair system! Blend in your hair from the sides and the back of your head (if you still have natural hair. Comb it together with the purpose of making it look like a whole.

Now that it’s all blended in, you can start to give it some style. Feel free to give it any shape you wish. Just remember to avoid straight lines and static hairs that disrupt the natural harmony of your style and hair system. Always keep it loose and give it volume, which is key: make it look real!

This process might take you between 5-10 minutes to attain your desired style when you are doing it for the first time. With practice, come perfection and eventually efficiency as well. Once you are done obtaining your desired style, get the water bottle and spray it up (not directly) towards your head, in order to let water mist your hair system and then very gently pat it. While patting it softly, keep molding a natural finishing touch and then you will be all set to go! Nobody will notice that you are actually wearing a hair system!

If you ever are in a rush, you can always use hairspray, however keep in mind that it shortens the life of your hair unit. It works pretty well and holds your hair system, but it will hold dirt, dust and other residue you don’t want in your unit when you go outside. In case you are using hairsprays, you can check out Advent Hair’s selection of sprays.

Last tip: never forget to bring a comb with you. It’s easy to carry, and it can always save your day! You can use it when you go to the washroom, in the car or before a meeting to make sure your hair is blended and you’re looking natural! You can find some nice and small combs here.

There you go! A totally natural-looking hair system in quick and easy steps! Any other questions, feel free to check out our blog.
