Placing your hairpiece the right way

Everyone who has at least tried to bond a hair system to their heads knows the importance of getting the placement just right. But the truth is, placing your hairpiece properly can be really frustrating, not to mention a confidence blocker.

There’s nothing worse than spending all that time in front of a mirror trying to get your hair system on point, just the realize later on that the placing is a bit off. Not to mention that, since the adhesive has already set, it’s not like you can just move it around and fix it while making yourself some coffee before you go.

Nobody wants to leave home thinking their hair system is out of place and being afraid that people might start noticing. If this has been happening to you lately, don’t worry! You’re neither the first nor the last person to feel this way; you’d be surprised by how common this problem is, and that’s why we thought of today’s blog post. Give our simple tips a try and you’ll nail it every time!

First off, we can’t pass this opportunity to recommend you the Just Rite Positioning Spray. This product is a game changer when it comes to placing your hair system just where you want it. Never heard of it? The name is pretty self-explanatory. Just spray a fine mist onto your bonding area, whether perimeter or full head, and you'll have 30 seconds to slide your hair system right into the perfect position before the adhesive sets.

Another thing you should get yourself is a crayon that can draw on both your skin and your hair system. That’s right! You’ll be needing a lot of markings to guide you when positioning your hair system, so crayons are a lifesaver. It is better if you can find one that resembles your skin tone, but if not then just stay away from flashy colors. After you went through all this trouble to place your hair system perfectly on your head, the last thing you want is some neon markings giving you away.

Now that you’ve got the proper tools, let’s get to it! Stand in front of a mirror with the best lighting possible. Grab your crayon and draw a small mark where your hairline is supposed to start. If you got a custom hair system done, you surely had some measurements taken. If you have them with you, you can use that to have a better idea on where your hairline should start.

Once you draw the mark, place the hair system on your head without any adhesive whatsoever. Use the tiny mark for guidance and align your hairpiece where the hairline should be. Once you feel comfortable with the placing, use a clip to get the hair out of the way so you can get a clear view of where the lace is going sit. Again, grab your crayon and make small markings all the way around the hairline.

When you’re done, take your hair system off your head and apply whichever adhesive you’re using. It doesn’t matter if it’s glue or tape, this process works fine for both of them.

This would be the time to use the Just Rite Positioning Spray we mentioned earlier. After you spray it over your scalp, put on your hairpiece guiding yourself by the markings and gently slide it into place before the adhesive sets.

You did it! Check yourself out and make sure your hair system is right where you want it. This process is fool-proof and with practice, you’ll get it done so fast that you’ll even forget you included it in your routine.

Once it sets you can keep applying adhesive if you feel like there are other areas that could use some more; remember, not all hair systems are the same. Keep some solvent around for some damage control, and remove any glue residue that is still visible.

That’s it! It’s completely normal if your hair system looks messy, so don’t forget to give it some love and style it before you go out and face the world.
